Patricia Merle Decker was born September 18, 1944 in Leesburg, Florida, and passed away August 1, 2018 in Ocoee, Fl. She was the Daughter of Leila Bell Cockcroft and Causey Charles Cockcroft. Merle was loved by so many and made a huge impact in the softball community. She had such and infectious smile with plenty of love to go around. She always believed that having a good heart was a magnet for miracles. Merle is survived by: Edsel Decker (husband) Richard Decker (son) Vicky Decker (daughter-In law, Connie Gamble (daughter) Jack Gamble (son in-law), Renita Rowe (daughter) Joey Rowe (son- in-law), Kay Stewart (daughter) Bobby Stewart (son-in-law), and Shan Decker (son) Tonya Decker (daughter-in-law). She was also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She had many accomplishments, but one of her greatest was the family dynamic she created. After 25 years of employment, she retired from the Disciples of Christ in Florida, but was also the first women police officer in Winter Garden Florida years prior. Her beautiful heart will forever live on. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Her viewing is being held August 4, 2018 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God at 1:00 followed by the service at 2 pm. You’re sweetie(Edsel) will sure miss you dearly.

Mom... I’m not sure how to do this thing called Life without you. You were always by my side. I know you’re flying with the angels and singing in the choir. You’re also playing and coaching God’s softball team now. I sure love you and miss you ole girl. I’m gonna miss you every day. My heart will never be the same. Until we see each other again.... I LOVE YOU MORE

We were so saddened to hear about Merle's passing. She was always an inspiration and great supporter of the West Orange Girls Club as well as all the girls that ever took the field. Our prayers go out to all the family and friends.

Merle, I have known you for quite a while I always thought you was one great lady. You never said a bad word about anyone. Fly with the angels.
