Acelia M. Gil, 91, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021. She was born April 10, 1930, in Cuba to the late Hilario Garcia and Eufemia Morales. She was the wife of the late Ernesto Gil who passed away in 2017.
She attended college in Santa Clara, Cuba, where she met her husband, Ernesto. They left Cuba to become Missionaries, and in 1977 moved to Miami, where they worked at the Inter American Division of Seventh-day Adventists until their retirement.
She was a creative person and liked to make things with her hands. She particularly enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and crafting.
Acelia is survived by her children Acelia E. Gil, and Ernesto (Lissette) Gil; grandchildren, David (Katherine) de la Pena, Alexia Gil, and Brian Gil; great grandchildren , Lucas de la Pena, and Adelina de la Pena; and siblings, Humberto Garcia, Hilde Tejeda and Adela Chico.
Funeral services will be held at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 1:30pm.
