Audrey Diamond

October 18, 1927 — September 23, 2014

Audrey Earle Diamond, 86, of Orlando, died peacefully on Tuesday evening September 23rd. She was born in Marlboro, Massachusetts and wed the late James T. Diamond. They had two children and shared many adventures together. They lived for many years in Massachusetts and Maine before moving to Australia, New Mexico, and then Florida. She was extremely committed to volunteerism throughout her life having worked for the Red Cross in Massachusetts, Maine and Australia. After her husbands death she spent countless hours volunteering for Hospice of the Comforter in Florida. She was also a teacher and an avid short story writer. She had a passion for gourmet cooking and was an active supporter of the Democratic party.
She is survived by her sister, Gwendolyn Broder of Bedford, New Hampshire, her two children, James T. Diamond Jr. of Orlando, Susan E. Deane of Bangor, Maine and three grandchildren Jennifer Benson, James Deane and Stephanie Diamond.
A memorial service to celebrate Audreys life will be held at the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden on Monday September 29th at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Audrey and her family would request donations to Hospice of the Comforter at www.hospiceofthecomforter.org
