Carolyn Brown

Carolyn Virginia Brown, 77, of Orlando, FL passed away on September 22, 2022. She was born on August 28, 1945, in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the late Mary Virginia Young. She relocated to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where she worked as a teacher and later as Principal of Elena Christian Junior High School. While in the Virgin Islands, she was active in the community and her beloved Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. where she was a charter member of the local Mu Gamma Omega Chapter. After her retirement, she relocated to Orlando to be closer to family.

She is survived by her son Joseph (Ariane) Brown, two grandchildren: Alyssa Brown and Jacob Brown. Her Nephews: Walter (April) Ales, David (Suwander) Ales, and niece Keturah (Eric) Sanders. She is also survived by her sister Yvette (Marvin) Davenport, cousins Jean (Grover) Crawford, Bessie (James) Harris, Sharel Macon, Yoland Macon, Stephanie Young and a host of additional relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Virginia Young, grandparents Alice Young and Robert Benjamin Young Sr., her sister Gloria "Tammy" Ales, and Uncle Robert Benjamin Young Jr.

A private celebration of life was held by her family on October 1, 2022.
