A devoted family man, born in 1931 from Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a “depression era” baby of immigrant parents from Chania and KontoMarie, Crete, Greece. He spent the first 8 years of his life in the segregated “Hill” district of Pittsburgh, before moving to the suburbs, he learned the equality of all people, value of hard work, saving and entrepreneurship having started working in his fathers “Kafenio” from the age of 8 after school. Growing up as the stereotype “over smart” short Greek, he started wrestling and track his Junior year of High School and ended as an undefeated Pennsylvania state wrestling champion and a dance competition winner on multiple occasions. Always a fearless competitor, he graduated PreLaw from Pitt University, worked in the family commercial Paint Contracting business with his father until his service with the First Army AirBorne in the US Army command offices in Germany and as an interpreter. Following his service he worked 20 years in the Federal Government, as a business consultant and retired at age 50.
In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to one of his favorite charities, the St. Basil Academy and Orphanage, 79 St. Basils Road, Garrison, NY 10524. stbasil.goarch.org 845-424-3500 in Memory of Constantine Bolaris
