Delia Carrasquillo

August 5, 1944 — August 24, 2023

Winter Garden, Florida

Delia Carrasquillo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born on August 5, 1944, in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Delia was a remarkable woman known for her meticulous nature and unwavering love for her family.

From a young age, Delia displayed a keen attention to detail in everything she did. Whether it was sewing or cleaning (which was practically an obsession), she took pride in her work and ensured that every task was completed with precision. Her home was a testament to her immaculate standards - always tidy and virtually dust-free. Delia had an impeccable sense of style and taste, which reflected not only in her jewelry and clothes but also in every corner of her well-decorated home. She also enjoyed the occasional true crime drama as a way to relax.

Apart from being meticulous and stylish, Delia had a heart full of love and compassion. She devoted herself to caring for others and nurtured her children and grandchildren with boundless affection. To Delia, there was no greater joy than seeing her sons grow up into loving fathers themselves or cherishing the time spent with her precious grandchildren.

Despite being highly skilled at sewing and embroidery, Delia considered her family to be her proudest accomplishment. While she created many beautiful blankets and photo albums throughout the years, nothing could compare to the joy she felt watching her children thrive and her grandchildren grow. Delia's love extended beyond her immediate family as she cherished the bonds with her sister Jenny Gordon and brother John Villafane.

Delia Carrasquillo was predeceased by her loving husband Jesus "Jay" Carrasquillo in June 2017; they shared a deep connection that spanned over several decades. She also mourned the losses of her mother Severa Villafane in September 2022, nephews John John Villafane in July 2022 and Christopher Villafane in April 2009, as well as her grandson Danny Diaz in December 2012. Their memories and the love they shared will forever be treasured in her heart.

Delia leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her surviving family. She is survived by her sons Michael Carrasquillo, Steve Jusino, and Victor Jusino along with a respective daughter-in-law Ruth Jusino. Delia's sisterhood bond lives on with Jenny Gordon, and she is also survived by her brother John Villafane and sister-in-law Manny Villafane.

Delia adored spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is survived by Elisa Vargas, Justin Jusino, Sara Carrasquillo, Shane Jusino, Erica Lugo, and David Diaz. They brought immense joy to Delia's life, and their memories will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
