Obituary

Dolly Aurora Castillo passed away on September 19, 2026, surrounded by her daughters and close family members.

Dolly was born on August 13, 1960, in Zipaquirá, Colombia. As a young adult, she migrated to the United States, where she built a life through determination, courage, and hard work. She lived the American dream and accomplished many of the goals she had set for herself. Among her greatest accomplishments was securing a home for her daughters and dedicating her life to caring for them.

A deeply meaningful part of Dolly's life was the spiritual family she found in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She and her daughters were welcomed with open arms by brothers and sisters who understood and supported her through the challenges and joys of raising and caring for children with disabilities.

Everyone who knew Dolly witnessed her immense love and exceptional dedication to her beloved daughter, Yuli Milena. That same compassion and devotion extended to her work as a home health attendant, where she cared for others as she would her own loved ones. Her kindness and genuine concern touched the lives of many families, and she formed lasting friendships with those she cared for.

Dolly loved cooking the most delicious meals for her friends and family, treasure hunting at yard sales, tending to her garden, and sharing her passion for crochet. She especially enjoyed teaching her daughters and friends how to crochet.

Her legacy will live on through her strength, creativity, and her deep faith and trust in Jehovah and his promise of a future free from suffering. - Revelation 21:4, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

Dolly is survived by her daughters, Yuli Milena, Elizabeth, Adriana, and Karen; her sons-in-law, Marcelo and Leonardo; her grandson, Alejandro; and her brother, Humberto. She will also be deeply missed by her dear brothers and sisters in the congregation, with a special place in her heart for the Stuart family and lifelong friend José Pulido, as well as her dear friends Tita and José, Francisca, Carmen Yudith, Zamari, and Pedro Hernandez.
