Doris Evelyn Sharp Grimes
Age 85 of Winter Garden, Florida died peacefully on August 30, 2014 after a long battle with dementia Alzheimers. She was a member of the West Orange Church of Christ, 1450 Daniels Rd., Winter Garden FL. where her memorial service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 7pm. All who knew her are invited to attend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bruce Fenner Sharp and Edna Arlene Thornton Sharp, formerly of Ocoee FL. 2 brothers, Bruce Freeman Sharp Donald Thornton Sharp an infant sister and her beloved husband of 61 years, Hugh Orville Grimes, who died in 2008.
She is survived by a sister, Rose Marie Sharp Lindsey Gene of Cullman AL. 3 children, Gae Dorilyn Grimes Pazera Lee of Winter Garden FL., Gary Lee Grimes of Cleveland TN., Timothy Bruce Grimes Lori of Anson ME. grandchildren Todd Grimes Megan, Kandi Crawford Matt, Jason Bracewell, Kristy Carroll Sean, Sara Dube Brad, Ryan Grimes Jessica, Tiffani Grimes 14 great grandchildren, 1 greatgreat grandchild also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Winter Garden, with the exception of the 4 years her husband was in college out of state. She was a realtor for 58 years and operated her own agency from 1978 until 2007, when she retired. She was the first female president of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, and at one point served on the Orange County Planning Zoning Board. She was well loved and respected by not only her family friends, but also by those who knew her on a professional level. She left a legacy in her own community of dealing honestly, fairly, and in a caring manner with all whom she came in contact. She will be missed by all who knew her.
