Obituary

In Loving Memory of Dwayne

On October 1, 2026, the world lost a remarkable soul, Dwayne, who graced us with his presence and enriched the lives of everyone he met. Born on May 26, 1981, in the beautiful St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Dwayne was the beloved son of Sonia Gumbs and Elliot Fleming. His journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the joys of family and friendship.

Dwayne's life was a true testament to love, devotion, and family. For 18 wonderful years, he shared a deep and enduring bond with his cherished wife, Marie Fleming, whom he married on July 25, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.

Together, they built a warm and beautiful blended family, surrounding their children Mya, Dwaynya, D' Vonte, Tatianna, and Cameron with unconditional support, guidance, and warmth. Dwayne leaves behind a rich legacy of love through all of his children and his precious grandchild, Kaizen, each of whom carries a piece of his loving spirit forward.

A graduate of Edgewater High School in 2001, Dwayne pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Le Cordon Bleu. His career as an Executive Chef spanned two decades, where he delighted patrons with his culinary expertise at Euro Bistro Tapas and Copas in Celebration, Florida, and as a Sous Chef at the Best Western Resort Hotel in Lake Buena Vista. Later, he served as a Rover Clerk at ABM Industries, showcasing his dedication and hard work in every role he took on.

Dwayne was a man of deep faith, having been a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando since his baptism in 2014. His involvement with the church community further exemplified his commitment to kindness and service. Known for his warm smile and approachable demeanor, Dwayne had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His humor was infectious, often lighting up the room with laughter, and his generosity knew no bounds.

In his personal life, Dwayne found joy in the simple pleasures. He was an avid car enthusiast, frequenting car shows and indulging his passion for collecting model cars. Cooking and traveling were among his favorite pastimes, yet his greatest happiness came from the cherished moments spent with his family.

Dwayne is survived by his loving wife, Marie Fleming.
