Elizabeth Horst

Elizabeth Ann Horst, 56, of Montverde, Florida, passed away Monday August 26th, 2019, at South Lake Hospital in Clermont. She was the wife of Jeffrey Horst. They shared 38 years of marriage together. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Kathleen Higgins and Thomas Rakoski. She was employed at East Ridge Middle School and enjoyed being a substitute teacher for many years. She was known affectionately by her students as “The Lemon Head Lady” for her love of Lemon Head candies. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, going to the beach, and watching her favorite show, The Golden Girls. She will be remembered for the kindness, love, and happiness she emitted. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey, daughter Samantha, and family cat Lana.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held 5pm to 8pm on Friday, August 30th at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 Plant Street in Winter Garden, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
