Ella Mckeen

Ella Gertrude McKeen (95), passed away peacefully with her family on June 7, 2021.

She is survived by her daughters Carol (Dan) Barrett of Ocoee, Kathy (Joe) Mccoy of Ocoee, and her son Keith (Lesley) McKeen of Longwood, FL. She had six grandchildren Amy, Jennifer, Ryan, Lindsey, Katherine, and Michael. She also had five great grandchildren Ann, Evan, Roland, Stella, and Audrey. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Edwin and Gertrude Bross and her father Ed Fisher.

Ella was born January 24, 1926, in Battle Creek, MI. She moved to Orlando in 1957 to raise her family. Ella was truly an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She chose family over career and was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed her time raising her family, going on vacations with them, camping and visiting family in Michigan.

Ella returned to work as her children became independent. She served her community by working in the Health Department till she retired in 1996. During her retirement years Ella enjoyed her independence and living in her condo at Sleepy Harbor. She had many friends there. She loved getting together with them socially. She had a competitive spirit, often playing dominoes into the evening!

Ella had a deep faith and was well loved by her friends, and family. She has left a positive impact on all their lives. She loved her family deeply and let them know that she was very proud of them. She was always actively involved in their lives, spending time with them, holidays and enjoying her grandchildren and great grand grandchildren.

A memorial service in honor of Ella will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 10:30 am at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787. 407-877-6700. In lieu of flowers her family would appreciate donations in her memory to Advent Health Hospice.
