Emma Ruth Greene March 26, 1955 – May 16, 2025

Emma Ruth Greene, 70, of Ocoee, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025. Born and raised in Ocoee, Emma remained a proud member of her community throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arbin Greene; her parents, Dorothy and Elbridge Sweat; her sister, Susan Price; her son-in-law, John Stein; and other loved ones who went before her.

Emma is survived by her devoted daughter, Jennifer Stein; her son, Timothy Greene and his wife Jessica; and her loving companion, Larry Edwards. She was a cherished grandmother to Emily Pistel and spouse Jake Yates, Cheyenne Stein, Loredana Stein, Parker Greene, and Avery Greene; and a proud great-grandmother to Jaxson, Goose, Jameson, and Hudson Yates.

She also leaves behind her siblings Charles and Judy Sweat, Elbridge and Debbie Sweat, and Mary Strickland, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Emma worked as a phlebotomist for 31 years, a career that reflected her caring nature and steady presence. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and bright personality — someone who brought comfort to others both in her work and in her life.

Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her love, strength, and kindness.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 E. Plant St., Winter Garden. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 12 Noon, also at the funeral home with an hour of visitation held prior from 11AM to 12 Noon. Burial to follow the funeral service at Winter Garden Cemetery.
