Indrani Sankar, 86, of Winter Garden, passed away on Monday evening, June 27, 2022 in her home after a period of declining health.
She was born in Guyana, South America, the daughter of the late Fred and Keowlapati (Jaggernauth) Budhan. Indrani graduated in 1985 from Ivy Tech with certificates in culinary education as well as CNA. She worked for several years as a secretary for Gary, Indiana Community School Board and also for Webster Elementary in Gary, Indiana. Known as a hard worker, she also worked at Belles Pharmacy in Gary Indiana from 1991 to 2005. Indrani enjoyed cooking, gardening, loved to travel and a good party. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member and founder of the I.G.C.O. in Chicago, IL. She attended People of Faith Lutheran Church in Winter Garden.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Milton Sankar in 2020.
She is survived by her two sons; John R. Sankar and Richard Sankar, one daughter, Jennifer Sankar-Prashad, 5 grandchildren, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 9AM to 11AM on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 E. Plant St, Winter Garden, FL. 34787. A funeral service will follow at 11AM, Also at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Winter Garden Cemetery, Winter Garden, FL.
