James Stafford

April 11, 1932 — January 18, 2019

James W. Stafford, 86, passed away on January 18th, 2019, in the Mike Conley Hospice House. Affectionately referred to as JW by most, James was the retired owner of Stafford Roofing. He was born on April 11th, 1932, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to parents Luby and Irene Stafford. JW served in the 11th Airborne Division of the Army and obtained the rank of Sergeant. James spent much of his life in Norfolk, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida.
JW was blessed with a large family consisting of nine children, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, James enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; seeing them always made his day and brought a smile to his face. In addition to his family, JW loved Jesus, reading the Bible, and a good country song.
James is survived by his wife, Nadine Stafford; children, John Brazzell, Geneva Sykes, Karen Smith, Linda Dozier, James Stafford, David Lampp, Georgia Lane, and Patty Curlee, as well as his 14 beloved grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Doug Stafford.
JW was deeply loved by many. His legacy will be carried on and he will be in our hearts always and forever.
Funeral services will take place Monday, January 28, 2019 10 am, at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 1 pm at Florida National Cemetery with Military Honors.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
