Joyce Oliver

December 8, 1937 — October 8, 2022

Ocoee, Florida

Joyce had written her own obituary:

Born in Covington County, Alabama, between Florala and Andalusia, Dec 8, 1937 to Ollie D. and Mavis Clary Scroggins. Two sisters, Glenda Martin and Sybil Morgan. We moved to Florida in 1945, I was in 2nd grade and went to Winter Garden Elementary. Jesse Brock was Principal and my teacher was Mrs. Holbrook. I graduated from Lakeview High School in 1956 with Honors: Beta Club, Honor Society. Secretary of the Jr and Sr Class.
Went to work in Downtown Orlando at a Loan Company on Church Street. Later went to work for Carl Langford, who was later Mayor of Orlando.
Married Willard in 1960 and moved to Ocoee. I worked for 2 more years and quit to start a Family. We had 2 sons, Mark (Kim) and Jeff (Theresa). I stayed home with them until My youngest, Jeff, was in the 8th grade. I went to work part-time at Orange Federal Savings and Loan.
I later became Manager of the Ocoee Office where we changed Banks three times. We became SunTrust and moved to Hwy 50 and Blackwood. I retired after a total of 30 years. Of all the training and College classes I attended, I learned the most from a 15 week “Zig Ziglar” class. “Stinkin Thinking” was his favorite quote and I still use it for me and others!
My proudest Life Accomplishments are mine and Willard’s 2 Sons, Mark and Jeff, 5 Grandchildren, Vinny (Allison) Kyle, Hank, Kaley and Garrett and 3 Great-Grandchildren, Cooper, Cailey and Caden are My Life♥️. They would be Willard’s, if he were still living.
We enjoyed raising our children, they were a joy, attending ballgames, NASCAR races, Fishing, Camping, Little League baseball, Pop Warner football and Vacations to the Mountains and Beach. We were always there to support them.
We went to Englewood, Florida to fish, Sun and fun with Family and Friends for 30 years straight!
I was always Home Room Mother, volunteering at school, Little League Officer.

Mrs. Oliver is survived by her two sisters, her two sons, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
