Lawrence Dean Poston, known as Larry to most and affectionately as Lar Bear to his loved ones, passed away on August 6, 2023 in his home in Ocoee, Fl. at 10:52pm. He was a beloved husband father, brother and friend. His memory will forever be cherished.

Lawrence was born on September 8, 1947 in Marietta Ohio, to Charles Francis Poston and Wilhelmina Rydell Poston. He spent his early years in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He later moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where he graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. Following his passion for machining, Larry became a Journeyman Machinist in the Akron area.

In pursuit of new opportunities, Larry relocated with his family to Ocoee, Florida where he began working as a Machinist in the Disney Central Shop department. He dedicated an impressive 45 years of his life to the Disney company, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with and contributing to the magic that brought joy to millions of visitors.

Larry was married three times, each marriage brought him love and joy. He was first married to Carol Taylor and together they welcomed their first son, Charles Harold Poston. He later married Donna Wood, and they had two sons, Michael Dean Poston and Adam George Poston. Larry was blessed with grandchildren, including; Amber Poston, Cassady Mangogna, Oliver Poston, Max Poston and Kade Poston. Larry is survived by his eldest brother, Charles Poston. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Poston. Larry's love and devotion to his family knew no bounds.

Larry's caring nature extended beyond his biological family. He took others under his wing and became a father figure to many, including Ellery and Christina Evans and their three children, Jolene Brown and Contessa Evans. As well as Whitney, Angie, Justine, Jimmy and Corey and many others he affectionately called his "Misfits".

Larry will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering work ethic and love for teaching the next generation. He enjoyed good music, good times with friends and family and a good fire in the backyard. He enjoyed fishing with his sons, talking about life and his experiences, and always had a good story to tell.

Those who had the fortunate opportunity to sit in his room, and share a conversation with Larry will know what a great loss we all suffered. His legacy of love, guidance and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Lawrence's Memorial Service will take place at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15th, starting at 4:00PM. 1148 E. Plant St., Winter Garden, Florida, 34787.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Give A Kid Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and opportunities for vulnerable children.
