In Loving Memory of Lucine Woolcock Tyson 1931 – 2025
Lucine Verna Woolcock Tyson lived a full and beautiful life for 94 years. Born in 1931 to Frances Ann Murray, Lucine was the eldest child and a trailblazer.
She began her career as a nurse in 1957, emigrating first to Canada and later to New York City, where she served with the Department of Health. Over four decades, she advanced to become one of the first pediatric nurse practitioners in the nation, and ultimately Regional Nursing Director of Queens. Her career reflected her passion for learning, service, and community health.
Lucine also lived her life with joy. She traveled widely, surrounded herself with lifelong friends who became family, and cherished every moment. She was the very definition of elegance, humor, and style.
Her bond with her sister Nadine was unbreakable, and her devotion to her family was constant. She held, guided, and supported us through every milestone of our lives.
Lucine is survived by her beloved sister Nadine Napier, her niece I. Danette Davidson, and her great-nephew Devin Davidson. She also received nine years of loving care from Ms. Inez Miller, whose kindness and devotion will always be remembered.
We will remember Lucine for her brilliance, her love, and the example she set. She lived well, lived fully, and leaves a legacy of strength, compassion, and unconditional love.
Forever in our hearts.
