Lynard Jackson

July 20, 1963 — November 4, 2017

Lynard Jackson made his appearance into the world on July 20, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest of two children. His mother, Betty Jackson Edwards, affectionately called him "Jabbo," and his stepfather Sidney Edwards called him "da Vinch," after the artist Leonardo da Vinci. At an early age, Lynard showed a natural talent for drawing and an enduring love for music. He spent many hours perfecting his skills as a talented DJ and sharing his passion for music with friends and family. He also loved comic book superheroes and sports. Lynard initially attended Corliss High School in Chicago, Illinois, and later earned his high school diploma from Chicago Vocational High School.
Lynard moved from Chicago and settled in the Orlando, Florida area, where he met and married his wife, Angela Hercules-Jackson. He and Angela were blessed with two children: their son, Lynard R. Jackson, Jr. (R.J.), and Lynard's daughter, Lynnette Jackson.
"Lem", the nickname many of his close friends called him as he grew up in Princeton Park in Chicago, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, barbequing, eating great food, watching movies, and living life. Lynard was fiercely loyal and protective of those he loved, and his spirit and enthusiasm for life were infectious, as evidenced by his many wonderful and lasting friendships.
Lynard also had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, and stood firm in his faith in God through many trials and triumphs. He often attended the Experience Christian Center in Orlando, Florida. No matter what life put in front of Lynard, he always turned to God to strengthen and guide him.
Our beloved Lynard was called home by the Lord on November 4, 2017. Lynard is survived by his loving wife, Angela Hercules-Jackson; son, Lynard R. Jackson, Jr. (R.J.); daughter, Lynnette D. Jackson; mother, Betty J. Edwards of Tucson, AZ; stepfather, Sidney I. Edwards of Chicago, IL; sister, Marcie L. Hawkins and brother-in-law Kevin Hawkins of Yorba Linda, CA; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and close friends.
