Mary Justice

September 28, 1935 — December 6, 2014

Florida transplant Mary Louise Hammond Justice Charlie died peacefully at age 79 on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Orlando home she shared with her husband of 45 years, William Morgan Justice, Jr. Bill. Born on September 28, 1935 in Jackson County, Michigan, Mary was the only child of the late Charles O. and Hellen Louise Lent Hammond. They lived together on the Hammond Family farm until she was nine, when she moved with her parents to Sarasota, Florida. Since graduating from Sarasota High School in 1953, Mary held various jobs, including fabric store sales clerk, dental surgeon assistant, banker, school crossing guard and homemaker.
In retirement, Mary traveled extensively with Bill, the love of her life, visiting destinations such as Russia, Istanbul, Rome, London, Morocco, Paris, Trinidad, and Alaska, to name a few. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger.
Mary loved art. She was skilled in many media, including charcoal, pencil, water color, acrylics and oils. A very talented artist, Mary generously gave of her time and creativity, volunteering at both Health Central, where she used her gift to serve patients awaiting mammograms, and at Health Central Park, where she comforted hospice patients using art therapy. She taught community art classes to local senior citizens and homeschool students for many years. Mary obtained her Associates Degree from Valencia Community College. She was a faithful member of Lake Sherwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Along with her husband, Mary is survived by daughter Annette Toni Hill husband Ken of Winter Garden, FL, daughter Patricia Wittmeyer husband Steve of Saint Augustine, FL, son, William Billy Morgan Justice, III wife Jody, of Orlando, FL, and grandchildren Toshia McGoldrick husband Brian, Todd Snapp, Andrea Hill, Jessica LiAPing husband Gavin, Haley Justice, Victoria Wittmeyer, and Alana Wittmeyer, and great grandchildren Ilana Snapp and Michael LiAPing.
