Roy C. Pierce Jr., 74, passed away on January 16, 2016. Roy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 20, 1941. His family moved to Orlando in the early fifties. Roy graduated from Edgewater High School in 1959. He began his working career as a mechanic in 1957 at the Hurricane Gas Station on Colonial Drive. He was also a mechanic at Bootie's until he started his own auto repair shop. In 1974 he opened Roy's Auto Repair. The shop began as a single stall operation. Several years later he expanded the business and moved to W. Colonial Drive. Then in 1988 he moved to the current location on Ferguson Drive.
He was married to Brenda Evans Pierce for 55 years. They had three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Roy was a devoted husband, father, grand-father, great grandfather, mechanic and friend. He loved the mountains, going on cruises and camping. He also loved being a mechanic and helping others.
Roy is survived by his wife, Brenda, three children, Janice Pierce Rentos (Dino), Brad Pierce (Sherry), and Debbie Pierce Busbee, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Troy, Rachel, Jackson, Madison, Ryan, two great grandchildren, Haley, Tyler and two sisters, Barbara Wise and Nancy Brooks. Roy will not only be missed by his family but by everyone that knew him.
