Ruth Allen Carter

July 9, 1935 — December 18, 2025

She was born in Fulton Mississippi on July 9th 1935. Her parents were

James W. Wallace and Annie Gladys Lawson Wallace. After her mother died the family moved to Apopka, Florida. She met her husband Ariegene Mitchell Carter in school. After they married they moved to Orlando Florida off of 23rd Street and lived there until 1972 when they

moved back to Apopka. Ruth was an amazing wife, mother, & grandmother. She took care

of any family member that needed her. She always opened her home to anyone that needed a place to stay. She also took care of her mother-in-law Big Mama for many years until she passed. She enjoyed reading, painting, cooking, and taking care of her grandkids. She organized many family events from Fourth of July picnics for C & C Contracting to Family Easter events and Christmas Celebrations. We had a large family with sometimes 100 people for Easter. She loved hiding 600 or more eggs for all her grandkids and other family members.

She would always listen to anyone that just needed to talk. She always said she was just an

Old Mississippi country girl because she loved shoes but whenever you seen her she was always barefoot in the yard.
