Samuel George Francis (Clement) was born on November 4, 1968 in Lyssons St Thomas to Ms Keziah James, a single mother. Ms James later got married on June 13, 1970 to Mr Cyril Walker who became Clement’s stepfather.
Later on, his parents had two (2) other children, Veronica (Joy) and Maxwell (Max). His parents also had other children from previous relationships that lived outside of the marital home.
Clement’s formidable years were spent at Morant Bay All Age School from 1974 to 1979. At age 10, he was successful in sitting the then Common Entrance examination and was placed at the Morant Bay High School. There he spent the next 5 years from 1979 to 1984.
Clement was free spirited and caring . These qualities endeared him to others. In fact most of his friends, at the point of his death, were coming from his high school days, relationships running for over 40 years.
In 1986, Clement started his first job at the Bank of Nova Scotia. He started as a Teller at the Morant Bay Branch. He quickly gained the admiration of his leaders, colleagues and customers alike. Again, this led to him further building other lasting relationships. These relationships propelled his growth within the organization, leading to progressive movements throughout his career. He was promoted on numerous occasions, moving to Lead Teller, Supervisor and later to leading the relief team for the organization. In the latter role, he would travel to branches all over the country substituting for persons when they were out of office. On numerous occasions, he would receive accolades for his work ethics and attention to details.
In 1995, Clement migrated to the US. This transition led to him using his experience and natural skillset to chart a path for survival in a foreign land. He was a lover of art and no one knew where that love would take him. However, after his migration, the true use of his artistic skills came to the fore. He opened his own clothing store and decorated it in his true “Clement” fashion. However, with advent of the recession and later COVID 19, he again had to pivot. This time he went online and established numerous brands to include ASIVIO, ORIXR and OVIOeyewear to name a few. He also dabbled a bit in music creating his channel called Clemhits. If persons were to look at these websites, they would see true talent at play, built and managed by Clement himself. He was self-taught and his talent was unmatched.
Clement met the love of his life Simone in 1999 and they produced 2 boys Sean and Steven. Along with his children from previous relationships, Clement is survived by his five (5) children Dwhyte, Johnathan, Britney, Sean and Steven). He also left behind 2 sisters, a step-sister, and his one (1) brother Max. Clement has also left an indelible mark on a number of other relatives and friends.
Clement was a nurturer and an advisor. He always saw the positive in every situation. He was also respectful of his own limitations. He never wasted time or energy on what could have been or what would have been. What was in the past stayed in the past for him. He was penchant for quality service and good communication and was never tolerant for rudeness of any kind. He was also known for his stylish and classy demeanor and will surely be missed for his advice and perspective to all his family and friends.
