Santos Audelina Valdez Medina de Castro, Doña Lina para quien la conocía, MAMA para sus hijos y nietos, ABUELA para sus bisnietos y tataranietos.

Nació en febrero 18 de 1930 en Manto, Honduras. Hija de María Felipa Valdez y Lucio Medina, en una familia de 8 hermanos, 4 mujeres y 4 varones. Le gustaba trabajar desde pequeña, acompañaba a su mama a donde quiera que fuera y siempre buscaba un trabajo que realizar para aprender algo nuevo.

Conoció a Lizandro Castro con quien se casó y formo una familia de 10 hijos, a los cuales juntos enseñaron valores morales y a trabajar para forjarse un mejor destino en la vida.

Nunca se quejó de nada y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Apoyaba al más necesitado con lo poco que tenía y eso la hizo ser una persona querida por todos los que la conocían.

Sus historias de vida son tan impresionantes que a todos sus hijos nos hacen sentir orgullosos de la mujer valiente y esforzada que fue durante toda su vida. Una excelente hija, una buena hermana, una esposa dedicada, una madre ejemplar, una abuela cariñosa y estricta, bisabuela y tatarabuela consejera. En cualquier lugar que Dios le dio oportunidad de vivir dejo una huella imborrable.

Se mudo de lugar en lugar buscando cada vez un mejor futuro para toda su familia y en 1994 emigró a Estados Unidos para emprender un nuevo capítulo en su vida, lo cual permitió que su vejez fuera en un mejor lugar. En el 2010 se hizo ciudadana americana a los 80 años.

En todas las etapas de su vida conto con el apoyo y el amor de su esposo Don Chando y todos sus hijos, a los cuales enseño a ser una familia unida lo cual hasta el último momento fue su mayor deseo.

Todos sus seres queridos la recordaremos por sus historias y su fortaleza, como un gran ejemplo de vida nos deja el saber que no hay nada imposible que puedas lograr.

Siempre trabajo y lucho para que sus hijos tuvieran un mejor futuro, fue una mujer visionaria, inteligente, pero sobre todo una mujer de FE en que DIOS siempre la guiaba y sostenía de la mano que la acompañaba donde quiera que fuera.

Nuestros Respetos, Amor y Cariño hacia Doña Lina perduraran por siempre en nuestros corazones por generaciones.

Santos Audelina Valdez Medina de Castro—known as Doña Lina to acquaintances, "Mama" to her children and grandchildren, and "Abuela" to her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was born on February 18, 1930, in Manto, Honduras. The daughter of María Felipa Valdez and Lucio Medina, she grew up in a family of eight siblings—4 women and 4 men. She enjoyed working from a young age; she would accompany her mother wherever she went and always sought out tasks that would allow her to learn something new.

She met Lizandro Castro, whom she married and with whom she raised a family of 10 children. Together, they instilled moral values in their children and taught them the importance of hard work to forge a better future.

She never complained and was always ready to help those in need. She supported the less fortunate with the little she had, earning the affection of everyone who knew her.

Her life story is truly remarkable, filling all her children with pride for the brave, hardworking woman she was throughout her life. She was an excellent daughter, a good sister, a devoted wife, an exemplary mother, and a grandmother who was both loving and strict—as well as a wise advisor to her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Wherever God gave her the opportunity to live, she left an indelible mark.

She moved from place to place, always seeking a better future for her family, and in 1994, she emigrated to the United States to begin a new chapter in her life—a move that ensured she could spend her later years in a better environment. In 2010, at the age of 80, she became a U.S. citizen.

Throughout every stage of her life, she was supported and loved by her husband, Don Chando, and all her children. She taught them to be a united family—a unity that remained her greatest wish until her very last moment.

All her loved ones will remember her for her stories and her strength; she leaves behind a powerful example showing that nothing is impossible to achieve. She always worked and strove to ensure her children had a better future; she was a visionary and intelligent woman, but above all, a woman of faith who believed that God always guided and upheld her, walking by her side wherever she went.

Our respect, love, and affection for Doña Lina will endure forever in our hearts, for generations to come.
