Shirley Mccrummen

November 6, 1960 — February 12, 2022

My Aunt Shirley Schreiber- Mccrummen obituary.

Shirley Ann McCrummen, 61, passed away on February 12, 2022, in Orlando, FL.

Shirley McCrummen was born on November 6, 1960 in Barberton, OH, to Harry Schreiber and Lois Schreiber. She was the youngest of 7 children, so she was a brat. She spent her early years in Ohio but around 1971 the family moved to Florida. The family started off in the downtown area around Rollins College, and then settled in Pine Hills on Hafer Lane. The Hafer Lane neighbors were very close and stayed a family even after everyone left the neighborhood. She stayed close to Vicki, Candy, Cindy, Christine, and Linda.

Shirley graduated from Evans High School and stayed close to her friends (Lauri, Tammy, and Christine) from school. She later attended a technical school for office management. She worked for Dri-Rite from 1990 to 2014. They became a very, tight knit family and as office manager she was known as the Mama Bear. She adored the owners Gil and Pati; their children Caiti, Connor, and Carli. She often baby sat for them and she thought of them as her own. She became very close to Shannon, Natasha, Lou, Stuart, Charles, and Jimmy to name a few. She also worked for Troy's Plumbing from 2019 until the time of her death. Troy and his wife Nicole became family also.

Shirley married her love, Ricky McCrummen on September 29, 1990 in Ocoee, FL. They lived in Ocoee until 2015; and then moved to Sorrento, FL. They had no biological children but many considered them surrogate parents and or the best aunt and uncle. They loved to travel and Gatlinburg was a favorite so they could visit the Spencer, Rutledge, and Clevenger families. She lost her love in 2017 and never quite got over the loss. She became even closer to her nephew Travis Brown, niece Kristy Hill, and Aunt Suzy Q Jones after his death.

Shirley was best known for her bubbly personality and her gift of gab. She got the extroverted personality of her father but the big heart of her mother. If you were a friend you were considered and treated as family. You could count on her to listen, talk and make you laugh. She enjoyed her Wednesday night Bingo with her Scentsy friends Diane, Denise, Jody, and Krystal. She loved her little dog Tink. She opened her home to niece Jennifer Schreiber. Jenny kept Shirley company and watched over her.

Shirley is survived by her brother Skip Schreiber; brother-in-laws David Hall and Tommy Brown; sister-in-laws Elizabeth Schreiber and Sharon (Tony) Griffin, Barbara McCrummen; nieces Kristy Hill, Jennifer Schreiber, Brittany Schreiber, Jessica Schreiber, Jennifer Brown, Marie McCrummen; nephews David (Amanda) Hall, BJ Schreiber, Travis (Lindy) Brown, Tommy (Bettina) Brown, Bobby McCrummen, Jonathan McCrummen; Aunt Susan (Jim) Jones, Aunt Helen Miller; mother-in-law Shirley McCrummen. Survived by numerous cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by parents Harry and Lois Schreiber; husband Ricky McCrummen; brothers Richard Schreiber, Timothy Schreiber, Jeffrey Schreiber; sisters Barbara Hall and Mary Schreiber; brother-in-law Bobby McCrummen; nephew Ricky Schreiber.
