In Loving Memory of Tajudeen "TJ" Abiodun Adejonwo

With grateful hearts for the life he lived and the many lives he touched, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Tajudeen "TJ" Abiodun Adejonwo, who passed away on October 7, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 59.

TJ was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 25, 1966. Thanks to his father's diplomatic career, he spent some of his childhood living and going to school in Germany and Pakistan, although Lagos was where he spent most of his growing-up years and attended high school.

In 1983, TJ moved to the United States with his parents and younger sister when his father was posted to the Nigerian High Commission in Washington, DC. He went on to study at the University of the District of Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Throughout his career, TJ worked in several companies, including a management role at a talent agency in the DC area, before eventually making Orlando his home. There, he worked in various sales roles before becoming a licensed Realtor, a career he truly enjoyed.

Although TJ was proud to become an American citizen later in life, he never lost his love for Nigeria, his roots, or his culture. His Nigerian heritage remained close to his heart, and his love for good Nigerian food, especially jollof rice and fried plantain, was just one of the many ways he stayed connected to home.

Sports were a big part of TJ's life. He was a passionate soccer fan and a devoted Arsenal supporter, and he also enjoyed watching American football, basketball, baseball, and just about any other sport worth watching! Beyond being a fan, TJ loved working with young people and helping them grow through sports. He understood that sports could teach much more than how to win a game; they could build discipline, teamwork, confidence, and character. He shared this passion by coaching youth soccer in Washington, DC, and mentoring middle school students through the US Dream Academy in Florida.

Those who knew TJ will remember his wonderful sense of humour, his quick wit, and that endearing smile that could brighten a room. He had a way of bringing laughter and warmth to those around him, leaving behind memories that will continue to bring smiles even through the sadness of his passing.

Above all, TJ was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He leaves behind his three sisters, Shola, Oluyemisi, and Abiola, who reside in the United Kingdom, along with his cherished nephews and nieces, cousins, friends, and former coworkers.

TJ will be remembered as a kind and caring soul who touched many lives in his own special way. Wherever life led him, he made connections and left lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him, but the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will remain with us always.

Rest peacefully, TJ. You will forever be loved and remembered.
