Edwina “Weenie” Wilson of Winter Garden, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, 11am at Lake Hill Baptist Church, 301 S. Hudson Street, Orlando, FL. Interment will follow in Lake Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was 69 years of age, born on September 30, 1951 in Orlando, Florida to Frances Hudson Jones and Newt Hudson. She graduated from Maynard Evans High School and received her Associate Degree from Valencia College. She is a retired paraprofessional from Orange County Public Schools and a member of Lake Hill Baptist Church. She married her loving husband of 46 years, Hank Wilson, on May 3, 1975. She loved reading, was actively involved in her church for many years, and loved her cats, especially her favorite, Katie. She was devoted to her faith and loved all of her family.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, Hank. She is also survived by siblings, Jewell, Bonnie, and Dennis, and step-sibling, Annette. She was the best Aunt Weenie in the world to her nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, and great great-nieces and great great-nephews. Her firstborn great-nephew, Victor, was like a son to her and her husband, Hank. Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by her daughter Danielle, Mother, Father, Step-Father Herb Jones, sister Diane, step-sister Marti, and step-brother Pete.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Wilson’s service will be Wayne Alston, Darrell Gay, Victor Suarez, Erik Suarez, Alex Suarez, and James Hancock.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Wilson’s name to Polk County Humane Society.
