Jorge Eduardo Morales Carrasquillo, 85, of Windermere, Florida, retired small business owner and Walt Disney World transportation cast member, passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2021 of complications following a stroke.
Jorge was born on August 22, 1935 to his parents Carmen Morales Hernandez and Eduardo Carrasquillo Vasquez in Comerio, Puerto Rico. At the age of 18, he moved from Puerto Rico and made his way to New York City. Jorge then settled in his beloved Norwalk, Connecticut where he served his Norwalk community as the small business owner of two local bodegas and commissioner of the Norwalk electric company. Upon retiring, Jorge moved to Orlando, Florida where he worked as a bus driver for Walt Disney World, a job he adored for 25 years before retiring for a second time in 2012. Jorge enjoyed doing yard work, swimming, spending time with his family especially during Disney family holiday celebrations, calling old friends, especially during each holiday, eating dessert, singing Happy Birthday to his family on their birthdays, keeping up with politics and watching his Yankees win.
Jorge is survived by his 4 daughters, Lucy White, Jenny Flores, Xiomara Goicoechea and Vivian Carrasquillo, 7 grandchildren, Jason Vega, Chassity Vega, Jovan Flores, Jonathan Flores, Jaslin Goicoechea, Anthony Reyes and Keiana Reyes, 15 great-grandchildren, his sister, Luz, brother-in-law Edwin Sr Zurita and nephews, Edwin Jr. and Orlando.
Jorge’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the chaplain and all the nurses and caregivers at Cornerstone Hospice Care at Health Central for taking such tremendous care of him and his family until his peaceful passing.
