Milady Nevarez

January 23, 1946 — May 13, 2019

Orlando

Milady Nevarez, 73 years old from Orlando, Florida, had her first sunrise on January 23rd 1946, and her last sunset on Monday, May 13th 2019. Born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Heidi Gonzalez and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Diaz; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy and affectionately called her “Mama”, Isaiah, Sarai, and Sophea; many nieces and nephews in Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania; her spiritual brothers and sisters from Connecticut and elsewhere, and her loved Pastors, brothers, and sisters from La Ultima Cosecha who meant so much to her. Milady is preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Cirilo, father, Rafael Cirilo, and brother, Rafael Cirilo Jr.

To describe Milady is to say that she was positive, trustworthy, strong, reserved, loving, nonjudgmental, and a believer who shared her love of God with everyone she knew and met. She lived her life as a positive statement on a daily basis.

Many people have goals and hobbies they enjoy. Here are two that share who Milady was. Her goals were to help others, so they could see and become the face of God. Her hobby was giving the glory to God. Her heart was full of love and joy which she chose to share with such enthusiasm. Her love for God helped her live a great life and she grew in faith daily. As she would say, “Soy una sierva de Dios.”

Milady worked at Optimus Health Center for many years when it was still known as Bridgeport Community Health Center. She worked as their first case manager in the Ryan White Department, helping patients with open arms. She left Connecticut to pursue her calling in missionary work with Heidi in Guatemala, where she helped raise a church and an orphanage. Years later, she returned to Connecticut to restart her career as a case manager at Optimus Health Center. She worked in a community to make changes. Milady was a catalyst for positive change and new beginnings. She told and showed people they mattered to her and God. She fought so hard against the injustices the world suffered.

Milady loved music and the word of God. Her main goal above it all was to one day be with God in his kingdom. She knew perfection would not achieve this gift, but she gave her life to the Lord and lived by his teachings, following his word and guidance. That was the price our Lord and savior paid with his life on the cross, so we all may receive his redemption. She rejoiced when a brother or sister received our Lord Jesus Christ in their hearts, for they were saved.

“Hay que creer en el poder de la oracion. Nos veremos pronto, Milady Nevarez.”
